Mario Camacho / January 1, 2016

Hello, my name is Mario Camacho and I am honored to represent you as President of Indiana Judo Inc. I would first like to thank our previous officers and committees for their hard work the past 2 years. As we enter 2016, we do so with a new set of officers and committee members with the goal of increasing Judo awarness throughout Indiana. By doing this we hope to bring the entire Judo community together to share and learn from each other. Our goal is to increase membership from around Indiana. From larger more established dojos, smaller newer clubs to individual members. By working together we could provide more opportunities for State workouts that will help with training and training techniques for both juniors and adults. Continue to provide a promotion board with high ranking Indiana Judokas to oversee the testing of new or advancing black belts. Offer coaching clinics with a certified clinician to help educate coaches on current teaching techniques, rule changes and other meaningful learning experiences. The clinician will be able to certify the attendy at a certain coaches level according to USA Judo. Stay current with the latest rule changes that are used by the International Judo Federation and USA Judo. These rules will later be used in International, National and Local tournaments. We will support our local tournaments and also continue to promote and establish Kata clinics to grow this specific discipline that Dr. Kano believed went hand in hand with Judo. These are just a few of the goals we are concentrating on to help build our Judo community and establish communication throughout Indiana.

As part of the new year Indiana Judo has unveiled a new website and logo. By doing this we hope to establish a brand that will be noticed by other Judo organizations like ours. The website will provide information about upcoming events, news, spotlight articles on different clubs, judokas or stories that will educate or inspire. Also provide important contact information to our Indiana membered clubs. This will help potential judo students living in your area find you and hopefully start their Judo journey.

In order for us to create something unique and grow Judo in Indiana, teamwork is needed. I can honestly say I do not have all the answers, but I do have ideas. These ideas along with ideas from other Indiana judokas can spark a combination of thoughts that when put together will help Indiana Judo grow. I look forward to working with our officers, committees, clubs and anyone willing to put time into growing Judo in Indiana.

Thank you

Mario
